I like to write stuff.
Sometimes it even makes it out of my head onto paper.
I’ve had some short stories and articles published in leading Australian magazines.
“Because I am three” was published in the Australian Family Circle in 2003. They paid me $350. That’s better than therapy.
I’ve done a turn at a story telling night. “Lindisfarne farm” is the story of the house I now live in.
I started writing a novel when I was on long service leave about 16 years ago.
Then I started writing another one around five years ago.
Then I started writing short stories because I thought I might actually get one finished. This is working!
I’ve also been writing and performing stand-up comedy, following in the footsteps of my son. I’ve done two 5 minute sets. It’s kind of like doing a novel on Twitter.
And when I feel like flinging a few words together to paint a picture, I write haiku. I wrote Christmas haiku 2015 in lieu of Christmas Cards.
